The ingredients.
14th December 2008, W_Lf_rt project space, Wolphaertstraat 25, Rotterdam.
For the Ubuntu evening, an improvisation workshop was organized and I spent a full day at the market, searching for vegetables and foods that I didn’t know how to combine into a recipe. The participants were also asked to bring their own spices in order to give taste and combine them with these very particular ingredients.
The result was a succulent and colourful dinner, and a great amount of recipes written by the participants.
The dinner was served on a chess table for 48 players, instructions of the game were placed on the wine bottles and seeds as explanation of the Ubuntu evening were given to the participants, as a gift to take home. This lead to many discussions about art as a social and interactive tool, while inventing new recipes for the Charlois neighborhood.
An evening on Ubuntu was hosted by Giuseppe Licari & Kamiel Verschuren with the collaboration of Ronan Lane and Paula Alonso.
